9 year old boy suspended 3 days for using the term “brown people”?

   That’s ridiculous! what is the world coming to? It’s like walking on egg shells. You can’t say this, you can’t say that. The school should have some kinda consequence for making that poor child stand up in front of everybody telling them what he said. That’s harrassment!

   I think we are. People are so worried about Political correctness they forget to see the big picture. Everyone is so worried about what others say and act, because it might hurt their feelings. i think everyone needs to grow up, what would happen if some kid said white people probably nothing.

   That’s a pretty stupid reason to suspend someone from school, since some actually prefer the terms “brown people.” I doubt that he would have received the same punishment if he had talked about “white people,” even though both are just words to identify particular races. Yes, it does sound like PC has gotten out of hand.

   Here’s a better one. Last year in my daughter’s high school, some Muslim students claimed to be offended by a Merry Christmas poster, formed a mob, and violently torn it down and shredded it in the hallway making a big scene. The school did nothing. However, earlier in the year I saw Ramadan posters plastered everywhere. WTF?

   thats sad. the anti-racism group in my school claims that the word “jew” is offensive and racist… -.- which it obviously is not.. i guess some people are hatemongers

   I see nothing wrong with “brown people” in fact, i would prefer it. I have brown skin, not black skin, so I am not “black” and I am not from Africa, so I am not AFRICAN American.
