Mushrooms are of 2 different types; the edible and the poisonous mushrooms. Edible mushrooms not only provide nutrients, but also have a palatable taste.

Edible mushroom is a mushroom harvested regularly and can be safely eaten. Since it has an enjoyable earthy taste and meaty texture, many famous cuisines largely use mushrooms in cooking such as:
Chinese
European
Japanese

Aside from their pleasant taste the edible mushrooms can be added to foods. They also give you health benefits because they are great source of essential nutrients. These include:
Thiamine
Riboflavin
Niacin
Biotin
Cobalamins
Ascorbic acid
Fiber

Also, they are good source of essential minerals, which often are not found in our highly processed-food and these are:
Iron
Magnesium
Phosphorus
Potassium
Selenium

Moreover, mushrooms do not contain fat or cholesterol and they naturally have low sodium content.

Various supermarkets and groceries sell commercially cultured edible mushrooms these days. However, the need to go there in order to find deliciously appetizing mushrooms can longer not be done on your part. Actually, what you only need to do in search of edible mushrooms is to learn a few things about them so as to differentiate them from dangerously poisonous species that can cause violent vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, blurred vision and many more. Information includes:
Mushrooms distinguishing features
Where the mushrooms grow
When the mushrooms can be found

Here are four types of edible mushrooms you should know:
1. Puffballs are grown and seen during summer and fall. They can be found in:
Lawns
Open woods
Pastures
Barren areas
Decaying wood
On soil

The features:
Round or pear-shaped
May or may not have a stalk-like base
Whitish, tan or gray in color
1″ to 12″ in diameter, though sometimes larger

These mushrooms have been mistaken at from a distance for everything from golf balls to sheep. Also, when young, its interior part is solid and white; then it slowly will become yellow and will turn brown when mature. Then this will turn to a mass of dark, powdery spores. As precautionary measures, the mushroom should be sliced from top to bottom and the interior should be examined to know that it is completely white and featureless inside, like a slice of white bread. A yellow or brown color that is seen will eventually spoil the flavor. There should be no sign of a developing mushroom with a stalk, gills and cap when examined. To cook these puffballs, remove the outer skin, in case of tough ones. Slice, dip in butter, and fry.

2. Shaggy Mane or commonly called as the lawyer’s wig usually grows in grass, soil or wood chips and mostly seen in lawns and pastures during:
Spring
Summer
Fall

Features of the mushrooms:
Long, white cylinder cup
Shaggy, upturned, brownish scales
Whitish gills
Fragile
Crumbled easily
4″ to 6″ tall

Additionally, when shaggy mane reaches maturity, its gills and cup dissolve slowly into a black, inky fluid. Only the standing stalk will remain. Hence, the best time to harvest shaggy mane is before its cup turns black. You should eat it on the same day that you pick it. To cook this mushroom, you can saute it with butter and season with nutmeg or garlic. Combination of this with scrambled eggs or chicken dishes is also good.

3. Coral Fungi are mostly found during summer and fall in:
Wooded areas
On the ground
On decaying logs

This mushroom has:
Clamp branching stem
Coral appearance
Tan, whitish or yellowish in color
Pinkish or purple in color, but only few
Up to 8″ high in size

It is important to note that few of these mushrooms have a laxative effect. And also, coral fungi that taste bitter, bruise brown when handled or have gelatinous bases should be avoided because this may cause trouble. In cooking, sauté the most tender parts of the mushroom – the tips and the upper branches. You can combine these with vegetables or white sauce.

4. Bearded Toot Mushrooms are also called Bear’s head. And these are mostly seen during summer and fall on:
Trees
Logs
Stumps

Its distinct features:
Clamps of hanging white “fur”
Resembles polar bear’s paw
Pure white when young and fresh
Yellowish in color when aged
4″ to 12″ across

Since it has noticeable size and whiteness, it is so easy to spot against the dark logs on which it grows. It has also no poisonous look-alikes. All other several closely related species that are more open and branched are good edibles.

You should eat only the young and white ones because the older, yellowed ones are sour. To prepare a simple menu with this, slice and parboil until tender, then drain and serve with cheese sauce.

Many parents want to make sure that their children begin speaking to God early in life. They will set up a routine for the children that will allow them to get into the habit of speaking to God every night before they go to bed. The conversations with God will be fairly brief, but they will focus on making the child familiar that they have a soul and that the soul can be taken if they pass away.

This nightly routine will instill in the child that speaking to God at bedtime is the best, but that there is no particular time that is not suitable for speaking to God. From the nightly prayers, children will learn that by speaking to God they can also help others to be blessed. Speaking to children about God can be a fun experience for parent and child and sharing the nightly prayer ritual together will help bond them to one another for the remainder of their life.

Children learn that they are able to make the nightly ritual more personal when they are able to pick and choose the names of the people that they want to be included in their nightly prayers for a blessing from the Lord. This one nightly ritual of praying can also teach children humility because they learn to get on their knees before the Lord when they are speaking to Him.

When speaking to children about speaking to God, many Sunday school teachers will offer pictures as proof that Jesus walked on the Earth, and the children will also learn that Jesus had compassion for people, and a love for many different types of animals. Children enjoy the sheep in the pictures and the parents use those animals to confer on their children that the hand of God is soft and can touch the heart of every man in one way or the other and all of the ways will feel extremely comforting.

When speaking about God, parents will usually start at the beginning and teach their children how we all came into being. From the teachings in the Book of Genesis, the children will learn all about how God entrusted a long lineage of people to one man and one woman. By speaking in this manner, children are spared all of the talk about evil but are made aware that evil has a way of changing things in peoples life and not for the good.

The nightly conversations with God will become longer as the children discover more about what God’s plan are for their life. Through speaking to God, children will learn the path that they should take but it make take several conversations to understand the entire conversation. Evil has a way of interrupting the conversations with God, and some people are strong enough to ignore the evil and continue speaking to God as if nothing had happened.

When you think of blue birds, do you think of hope and happiness? These beautiful birds remind us of Spring as they seem to fly effortlessly through the air. There have been songs and poems written about these beautiful birds that remain somewhat elusive flying through the air.

If you enjoy observing blue birds, there are a multitude of ways that you can attract them. As you know, they are not an ordinary bird, and if you take the time to educate yourself about them you will be surprised how many you find. There are a variety of different species primarily the Eastern Blue Bird, western Blue Bird and Mountain Blue Bird.

In the summer, you may find a blue bird swooping down for a grasshopper, spider or other insect. They look for insects during the day.

One of the most important elements of bird watching is to remember to be quiet. Birds will not fly near areas where it is noisy. They prefer silence or quiet, restful areas.

If you are interested in blue birds specifically, you should educate yourself about them. This will certainly give you inside information about them. They are a member of the Thrush family which is similar to the Robin. They live in North America and eat insects as a source of food. At one time, they were a very common bird however, with the use of pesticides and the loss of natural habitat, there numbers have decreased. They are cheerful and make a warbling sound. They prefer platform bird feeders and heated bird baths.

At one time, blue birds were prevalent in Ohio where there were pretty, open, green pastures and fruit pastures. As farming changed, so did the introduction of pesticides which completely changed the air and the landscape. Consequently, blue birds are not as prevalent as they use to be.

If you plan on going bird watching, make sure you bring binoculars and a journal to keep records. You may want to keep track of how many different species of birds you see. You may want to keep detailed records of what they are doing, where they are and what they are eating and where you saw them.

Blue birds are definitely blue. But, unlike other birds they have a brown, chestnut color on their throat and chest area. The female are not as bright blue and may have a duller blue color. They are relatively small birds and are approximately 5-7 inches long.

If you plan on going to a nature reserve or park, you may want to take some binoculars so that you are able to see the variety of birds up close. Make sure you have comfortable shoes and water, because you may have to do some hiking.

With all the hidden taxes in existence – there are taxes on gasoline, phone bills, airline tickets and a multitude of things we’re not even aware of – the government can fleece us like sheep in springtime without ever touching the income-tax rate. Thus, when Obama boasts of being a tax cutter, he is simply weaving a nice-sounding election-year yarn.

There is absolutely no question that these hidden taxes will be raised. How do I know? Because the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, and this is what leftists do. Moreover, how do you think Obama will fund the laundry list of federal programs he will foist upon us? Believe me, he won’t be cutting government or taxes, only the size of your wallet.

Regardless of whom you support, however, all citizens should understand we’re being played for fools. When a politician – any politician – casts himself as a tax cutter but only discusses income-tax policy, it’s simply election-time artifice. He is banking on the ignorance of the masses, knowing that he can promise to not touch a hair on their head and that they will never think that he said nothing about the head itself.
