Why do sheep like people put those stupid yellow magnetic ribbons on the backs of their cars?

Is it so they don’t have to actually THINK about foreign policy? Is it so they can make themselves feel good for sending a son off to invade a sovereign nation in order to plunder its oil supply?

Well, I think your views are extreme. If I had a son or daughter in the armed forces, I would have one of those ribbons too. I don’t love the war, but it breaks my heart to hear about young people and civilians losing their lives everyday in that war.

People like to belong, and it’s the cheapest way to support our troops and join the jingoists.

Because some of us have something you don’t seem to understand, “RESPECT”

well the yellow ribon stands for a loved one over seas and a black one like what I have on my truck stands for pow mia and kia so learn about it before you talk shit

Same reason that sheep like people buy those different color braclets, they are sheep. But, I’m sure you never bought anything that was trendy.

I beleive you hit it on the nose. It makes them feel good and they don’t have to think.

Like re-electing W who obviously is lying to us all about Iraq and everything else. If people were paying attention and got their news from OTHER than W, they could see that.

    It’s the oil stupid!

I wish I had been the guy who thought of these magnetic stickers that all the right-wing types are putting on their SUVs. What a genius!.

But how do they “support the troops” exactly? Does any of the money from their sale go to any military support organization? Unless you buy them from the VFW, probably not.

Where were these “support the troops” people when Bush and the Rupublicans in Congress were voting to cut “Imminent danger” pay from $225 per month to $150 per month and family separation allowance–which goes to help military families pay rent, child care or other expenses while soldiers are away–from $250 to $150 a month.

I’m a big fan of capitalism, so I certainly don’t begrudge anyone making a buck off the herd mentality of the American people. But I’m certainly not going to contribute my own money toward this type of display.

OMG you have no idea. FYI, military families pay the ultimate price, something you and others like you have no concept of. How DARE you?! I know it’s a free country, but maybe you should be more thankful for your freedom of speech, won by the blood of those soldiers and others like them.
No, it’s not so that they can make themselves “feel good for sending a son off to invade a sovereign nation in order to plunder its oil supply.” Who’s plundering? Not us!!! If you and others like you weren’t so busy listening to Michael Moore and his cronies, you would know that the oil we’re “plundering” is going back to the control of the Iraqi government. I KNOW this to be true from the soldiers that are there!
So why don’t you shut up, go serve a couple years in the military and see how grateful you would be to see those yellow ribbons, which signify support for our soldiers!
This isn’t the first time the yellow ribbon was used either. Why don’t you pull your head out of your @$$ before opening your big mouth and abusing freedom of speech?
